About Us
Oakhurst is an inclusive congregation that welcomes people of all ages, gender-identities, sexual orientations, races, ethnicities, various physical and mental abilities, and other distinctions.
We believe we are on a spiritual journey together, learning as we go, and you do not need to have or subscribe to a certain set of beliefs to journey along with us.
We have sought to follow Christ in facing issues of racial integration, women’s rights, homelessness, poverty, 12-step recovery, LGBTQ and marriage-equality rights, peace and non-violent action, disability rights, church hierarchy, immigration rights, and other issues of justice. There exists now a firmly rooted culture of faithfulness to Baptist and Christian traditions, coupled with a kinship to a multi-cultural, inter-faith world.
